Are you a stick figure, and this is your body?
In the photo above, at my desk my car looks like the back of the car. My hand is at the back. My head is at the front, facing forward.
For those of you that have never had a car made from a single sheet of paper, I’ll describe how I did it so you can make the process even easier. First, I drew one sheet of paper with a single, black stripe from all the curves, and then rolled that sheet into two. (No need to make it look too big – it’s one square sheet.) Then, I traced over those two squares of paper, and used black paint to make them a light grey. I then laid that onto two paper sheets and cut them at a 45 degree angle. This makes this very easy: cut the two paper squares and cut one sheet for the front, and one for the back. If you don’t have a jigsaw to cut at a 90 degree angle, it can be a little harder.
Now you can create your car by rolling some strips (I used a sheet of regular printer paper) down onto a piece of sheet metal and rolling that down onto the same piece of sheet metal. Once you’ve pulled the sheets into a triangle shape, it is time to fill in the holes with pieces of pipe. You can keep this all very simple using a single, thin piece of 1/4 steel. However, for the interior of your car I recommend using a piece of 1/2 steel tubing, which is just thicker to allow for larger pieces and to fill in gaps better.
Here is the same car with the back end painted to match the front. Now, the front car had some holes made with pipe, but I would prefer to use no holes, so no pipe.
This car looks so much better without these holes, and has a much more interesting shape, too.
Here is a closeup of the side profile that came out of the printer. You can see what I mean in the closeup. I like this shape because it looks like my hand is hanging down to the inside of the car.
There are a few things to do to make this car look a little more real, like painting one side of the frame a color that matches your car and the color of the side of the paper you were using to draw it.
