Is it too late to learn guitar? – Guitar Tricks Review

Don’t give in to the urge to start playing in a band or to start learning songs from other guitarists.

Learn to play by your own accord, as much as possible for free by spending time every day practicing guitar. Then, after you’ve learned to play a little, start studying material that’s important to you and learning the “big 6” chord shapes.

Learn to play a few good songs. Make songs that other people have been enjoying – you don’t need the big hits or big music! You know those great pop songs? Play some of those (just as you would the songs you love!) and then make other songs that aren’t in your head. Learn and make new songs on your own – no matter how difficult.

If you’ve got a favorite song that you like (and you do) start to experiment with different keys, chords, scales, and even the guitar tunings as you develop. If you’re making songs for others to get excited about – try to do it for as many people as you can!!

If you’d prefer a slightly more interactive experience, we recommend the excellent “Open Mike Eagle’s Guitar Chords”. This is a site that’s intended for people who want to learn how to play chords and are new to the guitar. It’s a great place to check out if you’re a beginner, or if you want to try playing a chord in your head and then practice it on your instrument. They give a great deal more than this website does, and in my experience, it works better for beginner guitarists because it’s easy to understand.

Now, I’m not saying to stop learning and practicing – that’s what music is, isn’t it? It’s supposed to be fun, and so are the tunes we play – but there are no other
