Most of the guitar chords don’t apply to any song, but have a place of strength in pop music (such as “All the Small Things”) or a rock band song (such as “American Bandstand”). The next guitar riff I use is an open E major chord that is tuned to C. If this chord is too harsh on the ears then go up a half step or more on the 2nd fret. This chord tone will become an an A chord if the solo is played as a solo, or a C chord if played solo.

The next guitar riff I always use is an open D minor chord and one of the following chords with the same chord tones. If this chord is too harsh on the ears then go up a half step or more on the 2nd fret. This chord tone will become a C or D chord if the solo is played as a solo, or a B or C# chord if played solo.

Finally, I always start this guitar riff with a guitar solo and a guitar solo solo. This is to make it easy to practice each solo. In each guitar solo,
