What age is best to start piano lessons?

It is always good for beginners to continue piano lessons as long as their skill level is good. The first three or four months is normally sufficient, after which the piano lessons must continue.

Is it possible to play the clarinet in a school?

No. If you are not able to play, you will never reach the same level as people who learn piano by ear and practise.

Do I need to practice with an open keyboard?

No, most people choose to play with closed keyboards. Some pianists have made a point, however, of playing an open keyboard when not learning a new instrument at all.

Can I use an instrument to practice some part of my piano playing?

Absolutely, you can do so. The key is to play every note on the piano with just one finger at a time; to play everything with a second finger at a time, you would need more practice than in a piano school. If you know you have to play an entire passage at 100% at the end of a lesson, try playing that same passage, starting with the lower third, then the fourth, then the fifth, then the sixth, then the seventh and then the last seventh note of the way. You’ll see the same thing over and over, and you can always change which finger is used at what note.

How many positions can I use for playing the piano?

There are 32 positions all the way up to ten octaves (4.0 to 5.4 octaves) which can be used in either finger positions. These positions are determined by the finger positions at the end of each lesson.

When playing any note on the piano, you can usually only play eight notes: two to the left and two to the right. Two notes can be combined into a new “stroke”, but usually it’s a separate sound. Each note is usually played two times: once to hold it in the correct position and once to bring it back to the start of the first line. These two strokes are called a “stops” and they are the only way to play with two fingers on a piano.

Each stroke only contains notes from your first finger. Playing a stop can be difficult and requires practice; but you’ll soon get used to the technique and it may help you play better while playing your piano.

There are other places which you can practise your playing; the first is with the piano itself. You can use it as a table while
