Boil in a pot of water for 15 to 30 minutes while making sure your paint isn’t touching the sides of the pot. Be sure not to touch the paint.
When your water is boiling, pour the sugar syrup into a bowl or mixing bowl. Stir to dissolve the sugar syrup. Continue stirring for about a minute until you have a thick gel-like consistency.
Place this over some water for a 10-minute soak, then stir again to dissolve the sugar syrup. You can also rinse the paint in cold water or a splash of water. Then rinse and dry the paint with a soft cloth.
How do you get rid of the paint?
If the paint is sticky, just rub it off with a damp paper towel or cotton ball. If it’s not sticky but looks dry, continue to rub until the paint comes out dry. The paint will dry to a stiff, slightly waxy consistency and might take several hours to fully dry. If it’s wet and doesn’t appear dry, it’s likely that the paint has been partially dried. Clean your paint with a soft cotton cloth or paper. Rinse your canvas again, then dry your painting with a cloth.
For a really dry painting, pour your paint down the drain. Allow it to drain fully, then fill the container with warm tap water.
Where can I get the supplies for my canvas painting?
You can either buy the supplies you’ll need at the store or you can do most of the DIY projects from this section on my site. For other products, see the store links in the left and on the right. Or, if you’re looking for some help making the supplies as well, contact me!
