On some of the web tools, like Flickr and Picasa, you can prevent Facebook from using your photos by adding a new filter to your photo. On many other web tools, like Google+, Google Photos, and YouTube, the same setting is available by default as “Allow Facebook to use your photos.”
I have a Facebook group page, but if I delete my Facebook account there’s no longer a way for Facebook to find me. What do I do?
If you have an open Facebook group account, there’s a way for Facebook to still find you, because these accounts are used for sharing photos only and for the content they contain. If the page you’re deleting is a member’s account, then you won’t be able to see it in a new window or tab, and you won’t see Facebook’s recent activity in the profile list.
I’m a student and I want to start a course. Can I sign up for Facebook?
Yes, you can sign up for Facebook for free. The best way to do this is either to create a Facebook group or to join a Facebook class. Here’s more information about learning Facebook.
Why aren’t you able to view my friends’ photos?
You probably want to be able to see what your friends are seeing, so the first thing you can do is sign up for Facebook for free. Once you’ve been on Facebook for some time, you should be able to download your friends’ photos directly from your friends list. The next thing you can do is to get a free app or another Facebook-style service like Google Photos, which provides a large archive of your friends’ photos for you to view.
Why don’t you have an online forum where I can discuss my ideas or concerns with other students?
We encourage you to use our forums, but if you would prefer to have a private forum just for you and your friends, you may find a private forum through one of our partner sites, such as the University of Chicago Open Forum.
Facebook also allows you to write a letter to the editor of an individual newspaper, magazine, journal, or other publication, and post questions or concerns for the newspaper or magazine to a list of Facebook users.
