Yes, pole dancing requires being both strong and flexible. This will make you a better dancer and a more competent pole dancer. We do not have a minimum level on pole dancing ability.
What do you mean by strength?
Simply getting strong on pole dance requires getting strong on the pole. A pole that is too light does not get strong enough to keep up on the poles in the middle. A pole with a pole attachment can also be a strength limitation.
Which is easier to maintain?
Pole dancing is easy, because you can just go around the pole and do what you want. If pole dancing is challenging, you will have to learn to keep a consistent speed on the pole. In this way you will be able to maintain your pole dancing style better and more effectively.
How tall are you?
We do not have a specific pole dancing height, we advise people to measure themselves on the most comfortable pole available for them and also check those that are similar to the one they are going to use. We also advise people to always wear the most comfortable clothes, and to have the lowest heels.
Do you believe it’s the job of pole dancing trainers to encourage people to achieve a balanced lifestyle?
Pole dancing is very fun because you have to feel free to be yourself, because everyone’s style is different. The pole dancing community will not be against anyone trying to follow their own style, we just think that pole dancing should be accessible to anyone and everybody to learn.
What advice do you have for other people trying out pole dancing?
To get better at pole dance, one must be able to hold their body to the pole in a position which is comfortable for them. It must also be difficult to push away.
Do I need to bring my own equipment and supplies?
Yes. It is recommended because of the many different styles being practiced and you have to learn pole dancing in a space where a pole is available (like indoors in a tent or on the back porch) rather than in your apartment. We do not suggest you build your own pole dancing pole yourself; it is very expensive and time consuming.
Do you provide support to those beginners who are unsure about their skill level?
Absolutely, pole dancing beginners are always welcome to join any of our classes. All of our instructors are very aware of the different skills that need to be mastered to keep up on their pole dancing, and they will help you through practice
