Is pole dancing the same as stripping?

Pole dancing is a great, fun art form and for a little while it was a way to get into the habit of taking a little time off from the day job and enjoying a little dancing. Now, the whole concept is a bit outdated: the way to stay true to the pole and truly be a “pole” is to move around the pole, and the best way to do that is to do this:

If you want to learn how to do it:

Step 1:

Begin at a height that can comfortably hold you up without any additional effort.

Step 2:

Turn your back, bend over so that you’re in the center of the pole, turn your hips so that your chest faces the ground.

Step 3:

Pull your hips back as far as you can without your knees coming up and forward.

Step 4:

As the arms come through to the sides, turn so that your hips are pointing to the front.

Step 5:

As you pull your hips back, extend your torso.

Step 6:

When you’re standing up, keep your arms out in front of you, and reach out with your palms facing upward. This will make it look like you’re turning your head to the side to look at the pole.

Step 7:

Make sure you can hold the pose with only your back to the ground at 1/4 of a turn: you can do it with your arms stretched across your chest, but keeping your body straight forward will make it look better.
