It is an idea I could do with all other materials; I can’t think of a thing that isn’t possible. It turns out that if you give someone a piece of canvas that is really, really cool and they can’t paint on it, maybe they have an idea of what they are looking for. If they are not able to paint it, what they may see are some things that the canvas is able to do that are not possible on canvas. So, yeah, it’s a big problem to solve.
What’s next for you?
There are a lot of things happening within the same period of time as this show. We’re doing a show in NYC soon called The World of Art. This show is a collection of many works by different artists and we’re doing a lot of things together. There are collaborations going on within the gallery, and also the Museum of Contemporary Art Boston. That’s where we’ll start to really celebrate the artists who are making art for us now. If I had been doing this in New York, it would be a totally different exhibition and I could have been the one pushing it in the direction of these kinds of shows.
What do people have in common with your work?
They’re just normal people that are creating art on canvas now. In New York there’s such a high demand for these artists. They just have so much demand that people are rushing out to buy these works. It’s not that different than what it is around the world where people are buying a ton of art. In New York there’s such a high demand for art-making that I think everyone’s going to be doing fine art.

After a week of a public campaign against anti-Semitic vandalism in D.C., D.C. Mayor Muriel Bowser said there’s little the city can do to protect against future attacks.
In a Monday speech, Bowser said that vandalism would not be tolerated if the city could not guarantee that those who attack people or objects on their private property would be given a chance to pay.
“This is an ongoing issue, and it will not be solved overnight,” she said, in a prepared text released by the mayor’s office.
